The Banza Church Ruins, located in the oldest poblacion of Butuan City, Philippines, are the remnants of the oldest stone church in Mindanao. Built in 1625 by Recollect friars, the church was reduced to ashes in 1753 by Moro pirates. Today, what remains is part of the bell tower, which is now enveloped by a balete (banyan) tree. This historical site stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of faith and architectural craftsmanship in the region.
